Senior Designer

Position Overview:

The Senior Designer will report to the Director of Design & Development. The role will be responsible for all categories including swimwear, knits & woven apparel. From a creative design perspective, the role will have dotted line reporting to our Creative Director and Founder and will be instrumental in driving the vision across all aspects of the design process.

Qualified candidates for this role will have a high taste level and will be able to translate their ideas to relatable product designs for the Frankies Bikinis customer. The Senior Designer will conduct market research to identify new trends, fabrics and techniques, and design inspiration.

Key Responsibilities:

· Conceptualize and create on-brand, on-trend concepts, season print and color that uphold the Frankies Bikinis aesthetic.

· Design and develop seasonal collections across Swim and Apparel for our PINK by Frankies Bikinis brand which is manufactured and sold exclusively by Victoria’s Secret and their PINK stores.

· Hand sketch proposals for interpreting these trends for the Frankies Bikinis customer and echo the Creative Director’s vision.

· Inspire and work with the Design team, including a Designer and Design Room Assistant ensuring creative storytelling is threaded throughout, creating a cohesive product assortment that is unique, innovative, ahead of market trend.

· Communicate design concepts effectively and provide direction throughout the product development process.

· Partner with Director of Merchandising to create relevant and profitable collections adhering to the line plan across all categories.

· Lead weekly fittings, across Frankies Bikinis and PINK by FB.

· Partner with the Technical Design and Product Development teams to ensure design intent is clearly communicated.

· Adherence to calendar and all key milestones.

· Build strong, dynamic and synergistic relationships with cross-functional partners, Technical Design, Product Development, Marketing, Merchandising and Production.

· Support the Brand Director and Copywriter by providing specific product notes and seasonal direction.

· Review e-commerce and campaign imagery to ensure product representation is accurate.

· Attend monthly in-store, or via video, training sessions with the Director of Retail.

· Attend sourcing trips as needed.

Skills and Experience:

· 5+ years of experience design experience with a women’s contemporary brand.

· Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion/Design.

· Experience in swim, woven apparel and full-fashioned knitwear preferred.

· Experience in textiles print ideation and application.

· Creative and innovative with strong illustration skills.

· Passionate about style and trends with unique personal style.

· Proven track record in designing on-trend product that deliver results.

· Exceptional knowledge fabric, garment construction, fit and costing.

· Ability to strike a balance between creativity and critical thinking in a fast-paced environment.

· Entrepreneurial, highly motivated self-starter with the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.

· Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.

· A team player, you contribute positively to team dynamic, cultivate passion and productivity. You are solutions driven, are an efficiency advocate and a strategic thinker.

Salary Range:

The base salary range for this position is $95,000-$120,000 per year and is full time. Actual salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, candidate’s related work experience. This position is also eligible for benefits.
